3-D film coming this August
Bona Film Group, one of the largest privately owned film distributors in China, announced in Beijing that a film based on kung fu and romance would be released on Aug 1. The 3-D film The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom, adapted from a novel by legendary kung fu scholar Liang Yusheng, and starring Huang Xiaoming and Fan Bingbing, was rescheduled from an earlier release date to coincide with the Double Seventh Festival, the Chinese equivalent of Valentine's Day. The Bride with White Hair (1993) was the first time Liang's book was adapted to cinema. Hong Kong-based Jacob Cheung has directed the latest 3-D version.
New safe-food list tests 300 products
The China Standardization Press and 365.com, a company that provides online safety information, recently released a new list of safe food. The company has been releasing safe-food listings since early 2014 every two months, which is based on testing results of food and drinks in popular supermarkets by third-party testing organizations. According to 365.com, this time they chose more than 300 kinds of food products to test, and only more than 80 kinds exceeded both the national and European standards for food safety. The company also released a list of products recommendation based on the products' prices versus their safety levels.
RV and camper firms come to Beijing
The All in Caravaning 2014, one of the China's largest exhibitions for recreational vehicles, RV parts and campgrounds solutions, was recently held in the Beijing Exhibition Center. The exhibition was organized by the world's leading exhibition company Messe Duesseldorf. More than 180 domestic and international companies manufacturing RV and camping equipment, or providing campground management service, exhibited their wares. An awards ceremony during the exhibition honored people who promote the caravaning culture in China.
