Eurocopter appoints new president and CEO of Eurocopter China

Eurocopter recently announced Norbert Ducrot as the president and CEO of Eurocopter China. Ducrot will continue his role asthe Eurocopter senior vice-president of North Asia (the China, Korea, Japanregions).

Established in 2006, Eurocopter China is a subsidiary of Eurocopter Group, a division of EADS, a world leader in aerospace and defense-related services.

In China, Eurocopter covers a market share of 40 percent, and since its presence in China, it has delivered more than 180 helicopters in the country. The company now have multiple bases in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Harbin, Chengdu, Wuhan and Hong Kong staffed with around 80 employees.

"Eurocopter's development in China over the last 45 years has been nothing short of remarkable," says Ducrot. "As the market leader, we aim to maintain and increase our market share in the years to come. We are determined to build on the confidence that our Chinese customers have placed in us by continually providing high-quality products and top-notch support and services at close proximity."

Eurocopter Group employs about 22,000 people around the world. In 2012, Eurocopter confirmed its position as the world's No.1 helicopter manufacturer with a turnover of 6.3 billion euros, orders for 469 new helicopters and a 44 percent market share in the civil and parapublic sectors. Overall, the Group's helicopters account for 33 percent of the worldwide civil and parapublic fleet.

There are currently more than 11,780 Eurocopter helicopters in service in 148 countries.
