Oil breaks $100 a barrel in five months

NEW YORK - US crude oil price broke the mark of 100 dollars a barrel after flat opening, as investors embraced political progress in Italy and Greece, the first time since June 9.

Light, sweet crude for December delivery gained 1.18 dollars, or 1.19 percent, to settle at 100.55 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
