Lauryn Hill says baby isn't Rohan's

Lauryn Hill has confirmed Rohan Marley is not the father of her new baby.

The 'Doo Wop (That Thing)' singer - who has children, Zion David-Nesta, 13, Selah, 12, Joshua, nine, John, seven, and three-year-old Sarah with on/off partner Rohan - welcomed her sixth child, a baby boy, into the world on Saturday night (23.07.11) but has blasted "inaccuracies" about her family situation, insisting the entrepreneur didn't "abandon" her during her pregnancy, adding they each value the five kids they had together.

She said in a statement posted on her website: "Mr. Marley and I have long and complex history about which MANY inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning.

"To speculate without the facts can only cause people to form WRONG conclusions. We both value privacy and for that reason defend and preserve our right to it. Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child.

"We have had long periods of separation over the years but our five children together remain a joy to both of us. Thank you for your concern and I appreciate all of the well wishes regarding the birth of my new son."

In messages he later removed from social networking website twitter, Rohan has previously insisted he wasn't the father of Lauryn's sixth child.

He tweeted: "2 things. I'm not married and I don't have anyone expecting anything. (sic)"

A reporter then responded to him, asking: "So we are clear. 1.) You're not married to your ex-wife or Lauryn, and 2.) She isn't preggo w/your child, but someone else's? (sic)"

Rohan then responded, saying: "That is correct until I say out of my mouth to the contrary."
