Happily single Zac Efron

Zac Efron is enjoying the single life according to friends.

The 'Charlie St. Cloud' actor split with his long term girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, in December last year and friends have laughed off rumours he is going out with Rumer Willis - daughter of 'Die Hard' star Bruce - saying he's happy on his own.

A friend of the 23-year old actor told website hollywoodlife.com: "Zac broke up with Vanessa to be single. He's not going to rush into another relationship."

About rumours Zac was romancing Rumer after they were pictured looking "cozy" on a Caribbean New Year's holiday, the friend added: "I wouldn't read into that get together as anything more than friends."

Soon after Zac and Vanessa split, sources said they were confident the couple may get back together again in the future, and he reportedly dropped in to see her in Los Angeles earlier this week.

A source said: "They realise that they both can trust each other, and there will be a bond between them forever. I'd be shocked if they don't get back together someday."

Vanessa, 22, has since said the pair are "good" with each other, but that it is unlikely they will reconcile in 2011 as she will be working so hard.

She said: "It's going to be a very, very busy year. I have three movies coming out, so I'm excited to see what the future is going to hold."
