Three Gorgeous
The China National Academy of Painting is presenting The Forever Three Gorges solo exhibition of Yao Boqi. Born in 1940, Yao grew up near the Three Gorges in Hubei province, which has nourished his life and art. Inspired by the natural wonder, Yao invented a painting technique called the "bark crack". The exhibition features more than 60 Chinese ink paintings created by Yao, all with the Three Gorges theme. The most eye-catching one is a 70-meter-long scroll named The Spirit of the Three Gorges.
9 am-5 pm, until June 9. Art Gallery of China National Academy of Painting, 54 North Road of the West Third Ring Road, Haidian district, Beijing. 010-6841-1369.
