From the heart
South Korean musical Love Dance will enthrall young audiences this weekend at the Poly Theater. Choi Him-chan, former dance trainer of pop groups like Super Junior and Girl's Generation, plays one of the lead roles in the show. Sachoom, an abbreviation for "dance when you are in love" in Korean, combines dance and music to tell a story, which follows love and friendship between three close friends. Since its debut in 2004, Sachoom has been staged more than 2,300 times around the world.
7:30 pm, March 8 and 9. Poly Theater, Poly Plaza, Dongsishitiao, Dongcheng district, Beijing. 010-6506-5345, 400-810-1887.
Free tickets to France
... Well, not quite, but maybe the next best thing. Stop by Alliance Francaise or the Swiss embassy on March 8 to get free tickets to Mars en Folie, a musical celebration of the French-speaking world. Four groups with four different backgrounds will be representing the European and North American Francophone music scene at Yugong Yishan: Klo Pelgag (Quebec/Canada, indie folk), Junior Tshaka (Switzerland, groove, hip-hop, reggae), Mauvaise Langues (France, rock songs) and Benjamin Schoos and Sophie Galet (Belgium/Wallonia-Brussels Delegation, French pop).
7 pm, March 9, Yugong Yishan, 3-2 Zhangzizhong Road, Beijing; www.yugongyishan.com. 010-6404-2711.
