Writer Hong Ying's new book, I Am a Gentle Cook, focuses yet again on love. The Chongqing-born author describes love as Sichuan peppercorn - one may fear it initially but will fall for the hot spice after tasting it. She believes that although falling in love is risky, it is still worth a try. In her latest book, Hong reveals her personal cooking experiences often have a physical or mental function, such as how she uses food to cure illnesses and attract a man.
