 Power to the Lady!

Clockwise, Lady Gaga this summer:

As of this week, she is officially the most powerful entertainer in America, having dethroned the great Oprah Winfrey, who slid three places behind Lady Gaga in Forbes magazine's World's Most Powerful Women list.

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, aka Lady Gaga, is the planet's 11th most influential woman, according to the just published list.

That's not too bad, considering that the Lady is just 25 years old, with three super-hit albums to her name and a wardrobe of wigs and fantastic outfits including lethal-looking twin-cone corsets, meat dresses and Polaroid camera glasses.

Seven years ago, no one had heard of this pop phenomenon, although no one within the civilized world with TV, Internet or radio could ignore her now.

While Gaga's appearance is intended to raise eyebrows, her music is mainly mainstream and commercial and she quotes her musical influences as David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, and Michael Jackson. Her stage name, she says, is from the Queen song Radio Ga Ga.
