Fruits of his labor

Artist Tian Hongbo from Weifang, Shandong province, shows one of his peach-stone carvings on April 4, 2011. He spent two years creating the scene, which depicts 18 PLA soldiers crossing the Yangtze River under a hail of bullets during the War of Liberation (1945-1949). The scene is carved on a peach stone that is 4.8 cm long, 2 cm wide and 3 cm high. [Photo/Asianewsphoto]
