AMMAN - China's envoy to the Middle East Wu Sike said on Wednesday that China rejects the EU decision to end embargo on providing arms to the Syrian rebels, which allows European countries to provide weapons to the Syrian rebels.

Speaking at a press conference in Amman Wednesday, Wu Sike said China rejects the provision of weapons to any part in Syria as the use of force will only worsen the situation in Syria and increases the suffering of the Syrian people.

He said China opposes providing arms to whether the Syrian government or the rebels, adding that China opposes any external intervention Syria.

"China stresses that political solution is the way to end the crisis in Syria. China has been involved in talks with the Syrian regime and the opposition, and dialogue is the best way to end the conflict," he said Wednesday.

On the issue of the Syrian refugees, he said China will continue to provide aid to the Syrian refugees in Jordan and neighboring countries, voicing appreciation for Jordan's efforts to help the Syrians seeking shelter in the kingdom.

On the Palestinian issue, he urged Israel to freeze settlement activities and resume talks with the Palestinians.
