Nearly 70 percent of China's migrant workers have not received any vocational training, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday.

There was a total of 262.61 million migrant workers nationwide in 2012, and 69.2 percent of them have not received any agricultural or industrial training, the bureau said in a report released on Monday morning.

Manufacturing remains the biggest job provider for migrant workers with 35.7 percent employed in the sector, said the report.

Construction absorbed 18.4 percent of migrant workers last year, marking an increase of 13.8 percent in 2008.

About 66.4 percent of migrant workers are male, and the average age of migrant workers has increased from 34 in 2008 to 37.3 in 2012, said the report.
