Rural women’s lives enriched by co-ops

Women sort beans in Xifeng county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Sept 10, 2011. In recent years, facing labor shortages caused by the migration of male labor to cities, the county mobilized 6,000 rural women to form 582 cooperatives and organized them to attend regular health seminars, various art performances and counseling programs to help make the women’s lives healthier and more fulfilling.
