BEIJING - The Central Military Commission of China issued an internal circular on strengthening the army's auditing work, according to an official news release on Monday.

The circular was endorsed by President Hu Jintao, who is also chairman of the Central Military Commission.

According to the circular, auditing results will be an important reference in improving the Army's financial work and will be factored in when evaluating performance of military segments and their leaders.

The circular also ordered army auditing units to improve their internal management and clean governance, and it highlighted the leadership of Communist Party of China (CPC) committees over auditing in the army.

The circular said, army auditing, as an important tool to exercise supervision over the army, is crucial to ensure the absolute leadership of the CPC over the Army and imperative to fend off corruption.
