CEHNGDU -- At least one person was killed and two others injured in a blast at a bus company Saturday morning in Chengdu, capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The blast occurred at 10:35 am in a two-story building of a branch company under the Chengdu City Bus Group. Three people were injured and one of them died later in hospital, according to a spokesman with the group.

Rescuers said there was a powder smell at the scene.

The spokesman ruled out the possibility of a work safety accident. Police have started investigation into the cause.
