China’s sports industry to surpass 200b yuan

The production value of China’s sports industry is expected to surpass 200 billion yuan ($30.04 billion) this year, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

The growth speed of China’s sports industry has kept up a pace of almost 20% in recent years, and the total value of 2010 may equal 0.5% of the country’s GDP.

Of the total, 80% is from sporting goods.
