Zhang Youlu, 32, and his wife, Shen Yan'e, 25, have been working far from home for many years. Recently, their hometown, Changyang village, Ankang city, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, adopted the "company+cooperative+farmer" business mode to develop the poultry industry and offered a reliable guarantee on sales and technique. So, Zhang and his wife decided to return to their hometown to raise chickens. In the winter of 2014, they borrowed 400,000 yuan ($61,680), set up a standard chicken farm, and started raising 5,000 chickens. Now, they don't have to worry about egg sales because companies and cooperatives buy the eggs. "We earn more money by raising chickens, but most importantly, we can be with our parents and child," Shen said.
