A Western-style restaurant named 'Bidou' opened its door to customers in Shandong on Jan 9, 2016. It is owned by over 50 college students who raised the capital through crowdfunding and made revenue of over 10,000 yuan on the second day of its trial operation.

Li Hao, the founder of the restaurant, is a student in Liaocheng University in Shandong and had always wanted to open a restaurant that targeted the college community. After two months of crowdfunding, 50 students jumped on the wagon and did everything on their own from planning, site selecting to constructing and purchasing.

Yu Ran, a 'shareholder' of the restaurant, said that 'Bidou' is short for 'BEPOTATO' which means 'Be together as a big potato'. They expect that all the small potatoes can accomplish big things when they work together towards the same direction.
