Premier Li says Sino-US cooperation will expand
The US president's first visit to China will certainly expand Sino-US cooperation to a wider range of areas, as the two countries still have great potential for further cooperation, Premier Li Keqiang said Thursday.
Li made the remarks when meeting US President Donald Trump at the Great Hall of the People Wednesday afternoon. Trump is on his first state visit to China from Wednesday to Friday.
"We are happy to see that the US economy is showing good momentum recently, and so is the Chinese economy," he said. "Such trends in the world's largest developed country and developing country will benefit not only our two countries but also the rest of the world."
Trump appreciated Li's inspiration in promoting trade with the US, adding that he and President Xi Jinping held talks Thursday morning on a variety of topics, including trade and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
