LONDON - The suicide bomber who caused carnage at the Manchester Arena was named by police late Tuesday as Salman Abedi.

Abedi, 22, was killed as he detonated an improvised explosive device on late Monday night when thousands of fans were leaving a concert at the Manchester Arena.

A total of 22 adults and children were killed in the explosion and another 59 were injured.

Manchester chief constable Ian Hopkins did not give details of the suspects address or any further information about him.

But Hopkins said a 23-year-old man had been arrested in the city as part of the investigation into the atrocity. Meanwhile, two houses in Manchester were also being searched.

Hopkins also appealed to drivers to hand police any video material from car dash board cameras recorded in the city center area between 8 pm and 11 pm local time Monday night.
