Tibetan Plateau threat to be discussed

Professor Katherine Morton, a specialist on China's international relations, will give a public lecture at the University of Sheffield's School of East Asian Studies on Wednesday on "China, India and Transnational Water Security in High Asia". She will discuss the threat from global warming to the Himalayan Tibetan Plateau, the planet's largest high-altitude landmass.Her lecture will be delivered at the university's Arts Tower, Lecture Theatre 9,Western Bank, Sheffield.

Ziyang delegates forming air logistics links

The China-Britain Business Council will host a roundtable meeting on Wednesday involving a delegation from the government of Ziyang in Sichuan province. The gathering, at Portland House, Bressenden Place, London,will give the visitors a chance to meet with UK companies that are interested in air logistics parks and airport industrial areas. It will also be an opportunity to promote economic and trade cooperation between Ziyang and the UK.

Chinese business culture under microscope

The UK Department for International Trade will host a master class on Thursday on "Business Culture in China". The country is the second-largest export market for manufacturers from the West Midlands. Advisers will offer tips at the free session on maximizing businesses' potential to succeed. The session will be held at Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, Trevithick House, Stafford Park 4, Telford.

Education suppliers head to Nanjing expo

Several education providers and related businesses will be in Nanjing for the Education-Plus Summit from Thursday to Saturday. The event, at the Nanjing International Expo Center, is the first international expo on education equipment, supplies and solutions to be held there.
