COLOMBO - Maldives President Abdulla Yameen declared a state of emergency on Wednesday.
"(The) Maldives declares state of emergency for a period of 30 days starting 12 pm (0700 GMT) Wednesday," the presidential spokesman Muaz Ali tweeted.
