Singapore's president dissolves parliament, readies for election

SINGAPORE - Singapore's parliament has been dissolved, the government said on Tuesday, a sign that an announcement on the date of the general election is imminent.
President Tony Tan has dissolved the parliament on the advice of the prime minister, the statement said.
