The retrieve process of bodies is likely to be difficult due to the extreme terrain condition at the crash site which is located on high altitude and steep ground, officials said.

Besides, weather at the crash site is unpredictable as fog may suddenly fall in the cold mountainous area.

Communication is another issue that may hinder the process as the crash area is seeing the minimum telecommunication signal.

A helipad was planned to be built near the crash site.

Basarnas and Indonesian military have deployed 266 people to search the crash site since Monday morning. The search efforts were involving 10 small planes and helicopters.

Transportation in the mountainous area of the Papua province is mainly served by propeller planes capable to take off and land in airstrip with less than one km runway that commonly served by several cities located in the hillside in the province.

Indonesia frequently sees mishaps of planes serving flights to cities in the easternmost province, as the common ones were planes that skidded off the runway or due to bad weather.
