8.5 magnitude quake hits off Ogasawara islands, no tsunami warning issued

TOKYO - A 8.5-magnitude earthquake hit off west coast of Ogasawara islands, about 1,000 kilometers south of Tokyo, at about 8:24 pm local time on Saturday and no tsunami warning was issued, according to the Japanese meteorological Agency.
