BEIJING - Chinese fire fighters have arrived in Penang, Malaysia, for the fourth disaster relief drill of the ASEAN regional forum scheduled for late May, the Ministry of Public Security announced on Monday.
It is the first time Chinese fire fighters have participated in the drill.
Hosted by China and Malaysia, the drill will be set in scenes of a post-typhoon Malay Peninsula. Malaysian side will coordinate international relief aid.
A total of 106 Chinese fire fighters will practice handling of hazardous chemical leaks, road accidents involving chemicals, rescue from collapsed building or landslide, and river crossing by use of ropes.
Chinese fire fighters have been training for three months for the drill.
