MANILA -- At least three people have died in a fire at a sandals factory in Valenzuela City in the Philippine capital city of Metro Manila on Wednesday noon, local media reported.
The factory located on Tatalon Street, Ugong village in Valenzuela City. The fire started at around 11:23 a.m. local time and as of writing was still ongoing and reached Task Force Charlie, meaning that firetrucks outside the city should also help to stop the conflagration, Valenzuela police said.
The city's Bureau of Fire, meanwhile, said that there were " positive casualties" but they could not give yet the details as their people on the ground could not yet get inside the factory.
Moreover, around 300 workers were trapped inside the burning factory. Only workers on the first floor escaped, reports said.
The fire has yet been put out.
