Singapore PM to attend Asian-African Summit

SINGAPORE - Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be in Jakarta to attend the Asian-African Summit, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) announced in a press release on Tuesday.
Lee will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the PMO, and will give an address during the plenary, it said.
The summit, which aims to strengthen dialogue between Asian and African countries, runs from Wednesday to Thursday.
Lee will also attend a gala dinner hosted by Indonesian President Joko Widodo and meet with his counterparts from Asian and African countries at the sidelines of the summit.
Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who is Co-ordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, will be the Acting Prime Minister during this period, said PMO.
