WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama hosted Hillary Clinton privately at the White House on Monday and discussed "a range of topics," the White House said.

The meeting last about an hour, and they "enjoy catching up in person when their schedules permit," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said.

After the White House meeting, Clinton posted a message on Twitter praising Obama's health care law and its provisions aimed at covering young people and those with pre-existing conditions.

She wrote: "Women get better coverage. Repeal those things? Embrace them!" The words seem to aim at the Republicans who want to get rid of the law.

The tweet has also attached an old photo of Clinton and Obama hugging.

Clinton has recently been under fire for revelations that she did not use an official email account when she was secretary of state. Instead, she dealt with daily business on a private account exclusively. The Clinton team also set up her own email server to fully control who could have the access to those emails.

The exposure of Clinton closely guarding her emails posed not only a public relations crisis for a promising Democratic presidential candidate for the 2016 elections, but also a possible legal investigation into whether her practice had broken laws.

In a recent CNN/ORC poll, party support for potential Democratic candidates was predominately focused on Hillary Clinton with a rate of 62 percent. She was also found to beat all the major potential Republican rivals in a hypothetical general election.
