At the annual Merfest convention in Cary, North Carolina, over 300 mermaid enthusiasts came together to celebrate being mermaids. Attendees took workshops on underwater modelling and breath holding and swam with Hannah Fraser, a professional mermaid and environmental activist. The whole three day event, which took place between January 2 and 4, culminated in a Twenty-Thousand Leagues Under the Sea-themed ball. [Photo/IC] |
