Train derails in eastern Switzerland

GENEVA - A train was derailed by a landslide on Wednesday in the eastern Switzerland region of Graubuenden, according to Swiss media reported.

Switzerland's ATS news agency cited the Graubuenden police as saying the accident was "serious", but that officers had not provided further details.

Graubuenden police told Xinhua that three train wagons of the train was derailed by the landslide.

The police confirmed that around 200 passengers on the train, not many passengers got injured and at the moment nobody died from the accident.

The train, run by the regional rail company of Rhaetischen Bahn,

had derailed near Tiefencastel on the line between the city of Chur and the resort of St.Moritz.

The incident came two days after three Israelis died and five others got injured in a collision of a passenger train and a minibus in the canton of Nidwalden in central Switzerland.
