2 injured, 16 missing in Russia helicopter crash

MOSCOW - An Mi-8 helicopter crashed early Sunday in Murmansk region of northern Russia, with two people injured and 16 missing, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
Preliminary reports showed that the Mi-8 helicopter of airline company SPARK crashed at 7:45 am local time (0345 GMT) on a lake in Tersky district of Murmansk, according to Interfax news agency.
"The helicopter was carrying 18 people, including five crew members," the Ministry of Emergency Situations said. "Two survived and were taken to hospital. The fate of others is unclear. The search is under way."
