RIO DE JANEIRO - At least eight people died and eight others were missing in a storm in Brazil's northeastern state of Bahia, local civil defense office said Sunday.
The dead were one boy, six women and one person that has yet to be identified, according to local media.
The storm, which struck Bahia's Lajedinho municipality on Saturday, destroyed at least 70 houses and caused relocation of more than 100 people.
Lajedinho, located in a deep valley some 350 km from the state's capital of Salvador, is constantly affected by rains.
