MEXICO CITY - At least four people were killed and three others injured on Tuesday after an explosion at a gas plant in the Industrial Park of Chachapa, a town in central Mexico's Puebla state, local authorities said.
The Puebla state's Public Security reported through its twitter account that the authorities are working in the area and the incident has been controlled.
"Preliminary report in Chachapa: 4 deaths and 3 injured, authorities remain in place," it said.
Meanwhile, Edgar Rodriguez, a local public security official, said it was a big pipe that caused the explosion.
According to the authorities, rescue workers evacuated an unspecified number of people in business facilities surrounding the gas plant.
