The South Korea Tourism Organization (SKTO) launched its official tourism app, Visit Korea version 3.0, on app download platforms for any iOS or Android product recently.

The updated app, which provides customers with a more user-friendly interface and more convenient functions, can be downloaded for free at the App Store or on Google Play.

According to the organization, the major new features include the ability to filter a list of attractions and restaurants by distance and a variety of tourism information on maps, such as travel distance and time.

A new bookmark function enables users to download and store their favorite information. A predictive search function has also been added.

Visit Korea 3.0 also contains a range of information, with more than 5,000 articles on major attractions, restaurants, accommodation, shopping and transport information. Most of the content features map locations, directions and SNS sharing functions.

New articles on South Korean tourism are updated every day, and tour courses by theme and a "Recommended Tours" menu deliver practical tips and information for any trip to South Korea. Other useful information while traveling in South Korea, such as public transportation information, voice services for major South Korean expressions, Internet usage information, useful applications and discount coupons, will be included on the app.

"We did not want the app to be limited to just offering reliable Korean tourism information, but we tried to develop an application that travelers can actively use by offering a variety of convenient functions," said a SKTO official in charge of the app .
