TEFL Scotland, a Teaching English as a Foreign Language course provider from the UK, announced on Tuesdsay it would launch international training tours for English teachers from Chinese schools starting from August.
Training approximately 5,000 teachers worldwide a year through its online and classroom courses, TEFL Scotland looks to extend its services to English teachers and teachers of other subjects in China by offering educational tours abroad — particularly to the UK — in addition to its internationally recognized TEFL courses, after it entered the Chinese market last year.
“The demand for educational tours to English speaking countries has increased exponentially over the past few years. With our enhanced local team and partnerships in the UK, we are confident that our tours appeal to teachers who want to get the most out of their overseas trip as we strike a good balance between leisure and education or training for teachers,” said James Zhao, TEFL Scotland’s General Manager for Greater China.
About 20 English teachers from middle and high schools in Beijing will join the first training tour to the UK at the end of August, he said.
As part of the tour, teachers will have the chance to visit at least six different regions of the UK and have TEFL training in London during a 10-day trip, he said.
“In London, teachers will receive extensive TEFL training covering different aspects of teaching English to non-native speakers such as teaching methodologies, activities and classroom techniques, phonology, teaching different levels and ages among other skills,” he said.
