HOUSTON - At least 14 people were injured Tuesday from stabbing at a college in the US state of Texas, officials said.
A suspect was in custody after the stabbing at the Cy-Fair campus of Lone Star College in the Houston area, according to The Houston Chronicle website.
College officials said there may be another suspect involved in the stabbing that took place at about 11:20 am at the campus, but Thomas Gilliland, spokesman for the Harris County Sheriff's Office, said investigators have no information about a possible second suspect.
A student subdued the suspect, wrestling him to the ground, The Houston Chronicle quoted Gilliland as saying.
Twelve people were rushed to area hospitals after the stabbing while two others refused treatment. Four people in critical condition were flown to hospital by medical helicopter, said the report.
Other hospitalized victims reportedly had minor injures.
The motive behind the stabbing was not immediately known.
Other media reports indicated the suspect may have used a knife or a pencil for stabbing. This is the second incident in recent months at the college. Two people were shot at another Lone Star College campus in January.
