TRIPOLI - Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zaidan said Monday evening that his government decided to close the borders with Tunisia and Egypt.
The borders would be closed temporarily from the Feb 14 to 18, Zaidan said, adding that the entry of travelers through the airports of Tripoli and Benghazi would also be limited.
He said that these decisions are precautionary measures taken to avoid possible sabotage by the agents of the former regime or some of those who do not want security and stability in Libya.
The move came after recent calls from social network sites and Internet to demonstrate peacefully on Feb 15.
