7.2-magnitude quake hits Santa Cruz Islands

BEIJING - A 7.2-magnitude quake jolted Santa Cruz Islands at 11:26 p.m. Friday (Beijing Time), following a quake of similar magnitude earlier this evening, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter, with a depth of 30 km, was monitored at 11 degrees south latitude and 166 degrees east longitude, the center said.
The center earlier reported that a 7.2-magnitude quake hit the islands at 7:12 p.m. Friday (Beijing Time), with the epicenter monitored at a depth of 20 km, 10.9 degrees south latitude and 165.8 degrees east longitude.
