Abe's govt announces new cabinet lineup

TOKYO - Japan's new Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga on Wednesday announced members of a new cabinet led by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who just claimed the post in a special session of the Diet.

In the new cabinet, Former Prime Minister Taro Aso took posts of vice prime minister, financial minister and financial services minister, while former President of the Liberal Democratic Party Tanigaki Sadakazu was appointed as the new justice minister.

Fumio Kishida took the post of foreign minister, while Itsunori Onodera became new defense minister.  

Ota Akihiro, a member of the New Komeito Party, became the new land, infrastructure, transport and tourism minister and Hayashi Yoshimasa was new agriculture, forestry and fisheries minister.  

Akira Amari took the post of minister for Japan's economic revitalization and the new economy, trade and industry minister was Toshimitsu Motegi.  

Nobuteru Ishihara became Japan's new nuclear minister.  

Suga said the priority for the new government is to revive the country's economy.
