TEHRAN - Navy Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, said Monday that IRGC will soon stage a drill in the Strait of Hormuz, Press TV reported.
Fadavi said that the drill would be held by the end of the current Iranian year (ending March 20, 2013), without providing any details.
The IRGC commander said that Iran seeks to establish lasting security in the Strait of Hormuz, "the world's most vital passage for energy transit," according to Press TV.
The United States and the West cannot establish durable security in the region, he said, adding that sustainable security could be established in the Persian Gulf through the cooperation of regional countries.
