Nigeria floods claim 363, displace 2.1 million

ABUJA - The recent floods in Nigeria have claimed 363 lives and displaced 2,157,419 people, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said on Monday.
The floods between early July and late October destroyed houses and affected more than 7 million residents, damaging farmland and social infrastructure such as electric cables, coal mines and railways.
Among the affected, 2,157,419 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were registered and 18,282 people have been treated for various degrees of injuries sustained in floods.
