Ugandan president swears in new ministers

KAMPALA - Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday swore in new ministers following a mini-reshuffle of the cabinet he carried out in August.
An official statement issued in Kampala said the swearing-in ceremony was held at State House in Entebbe, 40 km south of the capital Kampala.
In the mini-reshuffle which was the first since Museveni was sworn in for his fourth five-year term in May last year, new ministries were created, with some ministers dropped and the vacant places filled.
Vice-President Edward Ssekandi, Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi and Finance Minister Maria Kiwanuka retained their positions.
Richard Nduhuura, former minister of state in charge of general duties, was sent to UN headquarters in New York as Uganda's ambassador.
Former minister of foreign affairs Sam Kuteesa was reinstated after he resigned amid corruption allegations.
