Senegalese PM announces cabinet reshuffle

DAKAR - Senegal's Prime Minister (PM) Abdoul Mbaye on Monday evening announced a cabinet reshuffle which saw the departure of the interior minister and his foreign affairs counterpart.
According to an official statement, Interior Minister Mbaye Ndiaye was replaced by retired general Pathe Seck, while Foreign Minister Alioune Badara Cisse was replaced by Mankeur Ndiaye who is the current Senegalese ambassador to Paris.
This reshuffle is the first to be carried out since the election of Macky Sall's regime in April.
The Prime Minister said that it was meant to ensure "efficacy and efficiency" in the running of government affairs.
