Three people injured in Philippine bombing

MANILA - A police official and two civilians were injured in Wednesday's bombing near the police headquarters in the southern Philippine province of Maguindanao.
Maguindanao Police Director Senior Supt. Marcelo Pintac said an improvised bomb exploded around 6:10 am local time, wounding Inspector Marxdeo Aperocho and civilians Akmad Minas and Sheiyd Balabad. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Pintac said initial investigation conducted by bomb experts revealed that the bomb was made of a 105-mm mortar round.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the identities of the suspects and their motives.
