CAIRO - At least 12 local Egyptian people were killed Sunday in clashes among three families in the country's southern governorate of Aswan, official MENA news agency reported.
A police source was quoted by MENA as saying that the three families used automatic weapons in the fighting due to dispute over a piece of land, which also left three people injured.
The local security forces have imposed a curfew on al-Hikma village of Aswan after the fighting, and efforts are underway to arrest the perpetrators.
