LOS ANGELES - Rocket developer Space Exploration Technologies and Bigelow Aerospace are joining forces to offer passenger launches to private space stations.
The two companies will offer rides in SpaceX's Dragon capsule, using its Falcon rocket to carry international customers to Bigelow BA 330 inflatable space habitats orbiting the earth.
SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft will be capable of carrying seven passengers into orbit. The modular BA 330 habitat will provide roughly 330 cubic meters of usable volume and can support a crew of up to six.
Bigelow plans to connect two or more BA 330s in orbit to provide national space agencies, companies, and universities unparalleled access to the microgravity environment.
