1 killed, 2 injured in an attack in Nigeria

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria - One person was killed, two others injured on Thursday in an attack by suspected bandits in northeast Nigeria's Borno State, local police said.
State police spokesperson Samuel Tizhe told reporters in Maiduguri, capital of the state, that a businessman was shot in Babanlayi near the Monday Market area in the metropolis, while two others got injured.
An eye-witness told reporters that the bandits had invaded the area Thursday afternoon, launching attacks on businessmen.
The police are now investigating the incident.
