BAGHDAD - Two car bomb attacks rattled the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad late on Monday, killing at least 12 people and injuring 51 others, said a police source.
The police official told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that the first car bomb exploded near a Shi'ite mosque in southwestern Baghdad's al-Muwasalat district in the evening, killing five and wounding 32 others.
The mosque was also damaged in the attack, said the police source.
The second bomb exploded in Shaab district in northeastern Baghdad, killing seven and injuring 19 others, said the official.
Some of the injured in both cases are in serious conditions, which might cause the death toll to rise, said the source.
