DOHA - Qatar is to host a summit on Libya Wednesday, where members of the Libyan rebel National Transitional Council (NTC) are expected to discuss with representatives of a few other countries a fund of US$ 2.4 billion to aid war- torn Libya, NTC Executive Bureau Mahmoud Jibril said Tuesday, al-Jazeera TV reported.

Meanwhile, Jibril told a press conference in the Qatari capital of Doha that the North African country will start a transition "immediately," and pledged to make Libya a "united, civil and democratic nation."

Members of the Libyan NTC are expected to hold a summit with representatives from the United States, France, Italy, Britain, Turkey and Qatar in Doha on Wednesday to discuss the reconstruction of war-torn Libya, according to Jibril.
